Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, he commented: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
