Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match after voicing frustrations and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also suggested that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
